The Cape Town International Jazz Festival (CTIJF) is recognised as one of the premier jazz festivals globally and stands as the largest in Africa. This festival has experienced significant growth since its inception at the Good Hope Centre.
In a recent press release, Georgia Jones, the Co-Director of CTIJF, expressed her enthusiasm regarding the announcement of the recent rebranding:
“We’re looking forward to a new wave of progressive thinking, deeper community integration, and a brand that effectively encompasses this new vision.”
Festival Co-Director Carolyn Savage, her counterpart, confirmed that the festival will continue to uphold the foundational principles on which the CTIJF was established:
“As anticipation continues to grow for the latest instalment of Africa’s grandest gathering, the rebrand not only signals a new era, but also pays homage to the festival’s foundations, which have inspired generations of musicians and music lovers.”
Now entering its 23rd edition, the first wave of artists has been announced. A line-up set to pack the Cape Town International Convention Centre to the rafters.
CTIJF Lineup
CTIJF’s Talent Coordinator, Mariana del Carmen, conveyed her excitement about the 2026 lineup of this internationally acclaimed Jazz Festival.
“I would describe the line-up as critically acclaimed, global, virtuosic, proudly African, and full of live performers who will leave audiences inspired. Intentional and diverse, I’m so excited to see how audiences curate their own festival!”
This year’s lineup is exceptional, having been carefully curated to meet the expectations of jazz purists while also appealing to a wider musical audience. The varied roster includes a mix of global icons and emerging talents, featuring international heavyweights such as Yellowjackets, Jacob Collier, and Jasmine Myra.
Additionally, local legends and innovators like Sipho “Hotstix” Mabuse, Nduduzo Makhathini, and the Ongoing Rehearsal Our-Ke(s)tra, along with Carlo Mombelli presenting Chapter 7, and Dr. Sibusiso “Mash” Mashiloane, are showcased.
The lineup also highlights contemporary pioneers including Scorpion Kings, Jazzwrld & Thukuthela, BCUC, Manana, lordkez, Jabulile Majola, and Rorisang Sechele.
