The recent Hollywoodbets Super League Awards for 2025 took place on Sunday, 1 February, at the Vodacom Dome in Midrand, Johannesburg. Players like Leandra Smeda from TS Galaxy Queens were the center of attention that evening due to her remarkable season.
Smeda achieved an impressive total of 22 goals during the 2025 Hollywoodbets Super League, earning her the titles of Top Goalscorer and Player of the Season after an extraordinary season with TS Galaxy Queens.
Another standout player was Bonolo Mokoma from JVW FC, who secured the second position, enjoying a remarkable campaign in the 2025 Hollywoodbets Super League. JVW finished just behind the league champions, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies, marking their highest placement in the league’s history.
Mokoma was one of the brightest stars during JVW’s successful season. At just 17 years old, she is recognised as one of South Africa’s emerging talents, finishing as the league’s second-highest goalscorer in 2025 with 12 goals. Her outstanding performances led to nominations for Young Player, Player, and Players’ of the Year, all of which she won.
Jessica Wade, who has recently transferred to Aland United in Finland, also excelled for JVW during the 2025 season and received the Midfielder of the Season award at the Hollywoodbets Super League Awards.
Godfrey Sapula, the victorious coach of the champions, the Brazilians, was recognised as the Coach of the Season, while the Defender of the Season award was given to Sundowns, with Karabo Dlamini being the recipient.
The Goalkeeper of the Season award was presented to Dineo Magagula of TS Galaxy Queens.
The referees were also acknowledged and celebrated, with Jean Ndebele being awarded the Referee of the Season, and Nolitha Mhlomi winning the Assistant Referee of the Season.
During the awards ceremony, the South African Football Association (SAFA( Chief Officer, Lydia Monyepao, along with the Hollywoodbets Senior Sponsorship Coordinator Menzi Ngcobo, shared their insights.
Monyepao extended her congratulations to all the winners and nominees, while Ngcobo remarked that the awards represented the collective effort behind the league’s advancement.
