On Sunday, 15 March, Adriaan Wildschutt from South Africa won big in the United Airlines NYC Half-Marathon, making history as the first South African to win this esteemed event, finishing with an impressive time of 50:30.
Wildschutt executed a strategic race, remaining with the leading group for the initial 10 km before making a significant move near the 10-mile point to separate himself from the competition.
This has been a period of success and happiness for Wildschutt, as he recently secured a victory at the Absa Run Your City Gqeberha 10 km with a time of 27:47, just two weeks prior to his trip to the United States, where he also secured a remarkable win.
After his victory, Wildschutt expressed his gratitude on his social media account, thanking everyone who supported him, particularly those who stood by him even during challenging times.
