The Artscape Theatre Centre, situated on reclaimed land in Cape Town’s foreshore area, is extending an invitation to all jazz enthusiasts as Youth Month approaches.

From June 20–22, 2024, the theatre center will host the annual Youth Jazz series, providing a platform for young jazz musicians to showcase their talent and celebrate the youth.
Since its inception in 2003 as the Youth Jazz Festival, this music project has evolved and expanded, offering immense potential for budding jazz artists and fostering talent in the Western Cape and across South Africa.

The upcoming projects this year will bear a striking resemblance to those of past years, except for the fresh talent and jazz elements that have been recently discovered. The project masterclass programs will continue to stay consistent, providing young musicians the opportunity to be mentored by industry experts before performing on stage for three consecutive days.
On June 20th, the 2024 Jazz series will kick off with the All-Star Alumni concert, attracting jazz enthusiasts to come together and celebrate. This will be followed by the youth jazz soloists concert on June 21st, where the emerging talent will showcase their skills after being guided by the youth jazz alumni.
The prodigiously talented high school students of the School Jazz Bands will grace the stage on Saturday, June 22nd. They will mesmerize the audience with their skillful rendition of jazz music instrumentals, bringing the three-day 2024 jazz music festival at Artscape Theatre Centre to a magnificent close.
