Barcelona has claimed its fourth UEFA Women’s Champions League title after defeating Lyon, the eight-time champions, at the Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo, Norway, on Saturday.

Despite Lyon’s dominance in possession and their early opportunities, including a disallowed offside goal in the first half, Barcelona seized control after halftime and completely outplayed the French team.

With neither team scoring in the first half, Barcelona came out in the second with great intensity, scoring four goals to secure a 4-0 victory over the French giants.

Ewa Pajor scored the first goal for Barca just 10 minutes after the second half kicked off. She extended the lead nine minutes later with her second goal of the match, igniting the stadium as the supporters of the Spanish club began to sense the culmination of their efforts.

If you believe that was sufficient to conclude the match and secure the victory, you are mistaken. Salma Paralluelo, late in the game during stoppage time, added her own brace to finalise the score for Barcelona.

This victory marks the Spanish side’s fourth European title in recent years, having reached an unprecedented sixth consecutive Champions League final.
